Apparently, all roads lead to Bangkok. Our next plan was to meet Kelsey's dad (Dwain) in Vietnam. The easiest way for us was to head back to Bangkok & then catch a super cheap flight. Technically, there was a cheaper method involving a 24-hour+ bus from Vientiane...but multiple locals strongly advised we not subject ourselves to the awful road conditions & generally unorganized fiasco. It's not often we get that advice, but we decided to head it.

Conveniently, the cheapest & easiest path for Dwain was to also fly into Bangkok & then catch a cheap flight over to Vietnam.

For our one night only in Bangkok, we ate our way around the Chinatown market, now adorably decorated for Lunar New Year. We came within a foot of the mayor of Bangkok which we learned from googling since there was a massive crowd swarming him. Dwain experienced Bangkok on the back of a taxi motorcycle & lived. We trusted his hotel to sort his transport & didn't expect that to be the experience arranged. We, unfortunately, did not get to witness his journey. Dwain is a laid-back parent, but motorcycles are one of the absolute no go's on the rules list from Kelsey's childhood. We were all entertained & a tad stressed. We safely secured a tuk-tuk for his journey home.

We spent our last morning searching all of the Nike shops for a new pair of sneakers for Kelsey before catching our flight to Vietnam. Big shout out to Kyle & Dwain's patience through the process. The choices were simultaneously many & limited.
