The allure of Hanoi is undeniable, a city where French and Vietnamese cultures intermingle to create a captivating blend. One could spend days exploring its many facets, but for us, there was one priority that took precedence above all else - coffee, and not just any coffee, but the unique and delicious Egg Coffee. It's a local specialty that's made by whisking egg yolks with condensed milk and coffee, resulting in a velvety concoction that provides the perfect morning pick-me-up. And so we made it a ritual to start each day with a cup.

Navigating the streets of Hanoi is an adventure in itself, with the swarm of scooters that dominate the city. Kyle attempted to run through the city, dodging the never-ending stream of scooters that threatened to mow him down. It was a nerve-wracking experience, one that provided a unique perspective on the city.

One of the most intriguing experiences in Hanoi is a visit to the railway cafes, located just inches away from the active train tracks. We savored food and drink while marveling at the trains that rushed by at close range. It's an unforgettable experience that should not be missed.

The cocktail scene in Hanoi is a testament to the city's diversity. From speakeasies to rooftop bars, the options are endless, and there's something for everyone. Our personal favorites included Kumquat Tree Speakeasy Bar and Polite & Co, but the beauty of Hanoi's nightlife is that there's always something new to discover.

Our time in Hanoi eventually came to an end, and we boarded an overnight train to Sapa, the next destination on our journey.
