After a "shared taxi" ride that made us remiss for the Guatemalan buses, we landed back in Tbilisi. Unfortunately, on night one Kelsey got food poisoning & was out for the count for ~36 hours. Kyle spent his time as a local riding the soviet-era subway and checking out some of the really cool coworking spots around the city; most notably was a revisit to Stamba which had a great setup.

Once recovered, we spent an afternoon on the hostel rooftop socializing. The weather was absolutely pleasant after > 100-degree temps in Yerevan & nearly everyone from the hostel was upstairs. We met some really cool people from all over: UK to Norway to Kashmir to Australia. Group orders were made for beer, wine, & pizza and we hung out chatting until 2 am.

Our intended plan from here was to head up to the mountains for a multi-day trek, but the forecast had other plans for us. At the last minute, we abandoned ship & decided to head to Turkey about a week earlier. After a slurry of flight changes, lodging cancellations, and Istanbul research to find a spot two days out, we were able to recover some of our time lost in Tbilisi. We revisited our favorite Khinkali shop (Klike's Khinkali), Wine Buffet, and finally figured out the name of one of our favorite dishes (Kubdari).

So far Georgia is our top recommendation for a visit if you have a spare 2 weeks. The people are incredibly kind & generous, the food amazing, and the architecture + nature gorgeous.
