The time has finally arrived for our most anticipated portion of the trip; our first travels abroad were to Southeast Asia a decade ago & we have learned the lesson of patience to wait for the rainy season to pass. We were greeted with our worst bout of jet lag to date & delicious street food melding nearly all of our favorites from Southeast Asia in the melting pot that is Kuala Lumpur.

We posted up in a lovely Marriott thanks to an early Christmas gift from Kelsey's Mom; sleeping away the jet lag in plush bedding, missing most of the included breakfasts due to aforementioned jet lag, and taking in the skyline from the rooftop pool. Kuala Lumpur was a gentle ease into the bustling cities of Asia with great public transit, street food around every corner, immense skyscrapers, and the best shopping malls. Our favorite dish was a fried noodle dish called Char Kuey Teow; Kelsey thinks of it daily. We also had an interesting dessert that featured shaved ice, corn, and black beans; it was, somehow, quite good.
