Our unfortunate fear & lack of scootering skills persuaded us to head back to Ubud; the beach areas were either too congested with traffic & trash or required self-provided transport. We felt validated in the fear as we'd never seen so many people with bandaged calves and apparent road rash. We booked an adorable hotel with yet another cool pool (actually, two) closer to the center of town. Kelsey found a pretty good gym & went to a couple of yoga classes (when in Rome, right?). Kyle eventually found a reasonable running path. We found the best cup of coffee we've maybe ever had & indulged not once, but twice, at a Mexican restaurant (fajitas for Kelsey, burrito for Kyle).

The heat and humidity combo was insane. We finally found our limit in the amount of heat we can handle. We'd creep out in the morning, catch scooters back in the midday heat, and hang out in the AC until it cooled down. It never cooled down much.
