Departing Luang Prabang, we hopped on the brand new high-speed train, courtesy of China, to Vang Vieng. Once a very wild party destination, things have very much calmed down; there were nearly as many families enjoying the beautiful landscapes as there were college kids. We continued to take it slow, finding a favorite coffee shop + breakfast spot we visited nearly daily. Sourdough toast for the win.

The main excursions in Vang Vieng are the blue lagoons & tubing down the river. We obliged in both and greatly enjoyed the slow float down the river stopping at a couple of bars along the way and meeting a few cool people. Still riding on the coattails of our baby faces, we blended in with the folks in their young 20s and spent a fun evening at Gary's Irish Pub eating burgers and playing darts. We even stopped by the Indy Bar one night and met a cool Laotian guy visiting with his Mom from Luang Prabang. We were not able to secure an explanation of the connection to Indy.
