From Amman, we set out on a journey to Petra, taking the long route to catch a glimpse of the Dead Sea once more. The bright blue waters were a sight to behold, and in our opinion, the views in Jordan surpassed even those from Israel. We stopped at a humble hut for coffee along the way, an experience that will stay with us forever.

Thanks to Kelseyโ€™s amazing driving skills, we were able to navigate the winding roads and numerous hidden speed bumps with ease and even managed to dodge speeding tickets. Petra is located near the small town of Wadi Musa, which reminded us greatly of the town we had stayed in during our trip to Cappadocia, Turkey. An unremarkable place, its main purpose to accommodate the influx of tourists visiting the ancient city.

Petra, however, is a marvel to behold. After a 30-minute stroll, one arrives at The Treasury, and another 30 minutes brings one to The Monastery. In our opinion, it surpasses even the pyramids in grandeur.
